About

Founded in March of 2013 by friends Tim Schlabach and Pete Doan, 924 CrossFit started over humble discussions about how Pete could continue his passion for coaching, CrossFit, and overall health. In less than three short months things were underway in a small, less than ideal location in Berlin, Ohio. With initial classes sometimes only having 1 to 2 people Pete and Tim did not look back, they knew there was a passion in the community for health and fitness, they just needed time to see that CrossFit was what they were looking for. Classes continued to grow and soon walls were being knocked down, more equipment was being purchased, and refinement was continued. In less than 6 months they had grown to over 100 loyal members and outgrown their 2,400 square foot facility. Now in a state of the art 5,400 square foot facility the dream continues. Pete and Tim have a simple philosophy when it comes to running their gym, community first. If the relationships are formed then the fitness will follow. They strive to build people up and believe that being physically healthy is directly related to one’s spiritual health and that you can not have one without the other.

CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.
CrossFit delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. The specialty of CrossFit is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and even life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist.

The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. CrossFit has used the same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. CrossFit scales load and intensity, not programs.

The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind. Our terrorist hunters, skiers, mountain bike riders and housewives have found their best fitness from the same regimen.

Thousands of athletes worldwide have followed workouts posted daily on the CrossFit main site and have distinguished themselves in combat, the streets, the ring, stadiums, gyms and homes.
